How is sound related to health and wellbeing?

Believe it or not, humans have used sound as a tool for healing for more than 40,000 years. In either a group immersion or an individual sound session, a trained therapist will use singing bowls, tuning forks, bells, and other healing instruments to create a matrix of tones and vibrations that promote deep relaxation, clearing and rejuvenation. Sound therapy may reduce physical, mental, and emotional stress resulting in an improved overall sense of wellbeing and tranquility. This reduction in stress may also promote healing and vitality and boost the immune system. Following a sound session, many people report experiencing a deep state of physical relaxation resembling that of a deep tissue massage.

MARCH IS SOCIAL WORK MONTH!

The theme of 2025 Social Work Month is Compassion + Action. Compassion turns to action as social workers respond to the call to address social issues in our communities and in our nation. Social workers are advocates who lend their voices to the voiceless and seek to empower others. You will find them in schools, hospitals, private and public health clinics, social service agencies, neighborhoods, local government, veteran centers and in the heart of social movements. You will find four of them here at Rise!

Happy Social Work Month to all of our fellow social workers! Thank you for all you do to turn compassion into action!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!
